Karen Ta created this page with the hopes of educating medical students and residents around the world about Emergency Medicine.  She is a second year EM resident at  SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, New York. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys running, yoga, and hiking.

Mark Silverberg, MD FACEP

Dr. Silverberg is the Associate Residency Director in the Emergency Department at SUNY Downstate and Kings County Hospital in Brookly, New York.  His major medical interests lie in resident education as well as  medical photography.  He has help publish two separate Emergency Medicine photo atlases.  They are Greenberg’s Text Atlas of Emergency Medicine and The Atlas of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. More importantly, interested outside of work are dive medicine and underwater photography.

Jackie Shibata is a 5th year EM/IM resident at Kings County Hospital. She is also the Resident Editor-in-chief of blog.clinicalmonster.com and is a frequent co-author of the Resident Journal Review for AAEM’s Common Sense newsletter. Outside of work she loves to travel, eat good food and have good times with great people!

Raymond M. Beyda, MD

Ray is a 3rd year EM/IM resident at Kings County Hospital. He also writes for the Clinical Monster “EM from the IM perspective” blog, is a co-author of the Resident Journal Review for AAEM’s Common Sense newsletter, and is involved in medical student education. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, hanging out with friends, going to the movies, the great outdoors, a good museum, exploring NYC, and traveling.

  1. Hey KCH EM guys, we love your image collection and have big fans since you guys started. We run WikEM.org which we are working on building out into a free online core text and wanted to reach out to you about your image licensing. Everything on the wiki is Creative Commons non commercial. Would you be interested in adding images from KCH onto the wiki? They could all have credit links of course and be Creative Commons licensed.
